We can beat the scammers

Paul in writing to the Corinthians in 1 Corinthians 14: 36-38 said “If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord. But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant”.

Paul was writhing about order in the church and addressed the issues of tongue speaking and the conduct of women. He was careful to point out that the things, the directives, the commands which he gave were not from his thinking or rationalization, but in fact were the commands of God. His listeners then and us now, learning this fact, should respect the directives and act upon them, because they are the words of God. That is if we wish to be spiritual. Otherwise we have chosen to be ignorant and in so doing have chosen to accept the consequences of this willful ignorance- depravity and sin (Matthew 13:15; Romans 1: 28)

It is important that recognize and treat the word of God as that – the word of God (1 Thessalonians 2:13) and hold fast to the pattern of sound words (2 Timothy 1:13). It is in so doing that we protect ourselves from the religious errors which can affect our souls and retard our work to attain the “measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13-15).  We have to be careful not to be “carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive”. Despite how motivated we feel or how logical the argument seems or even how many “sensible” people are involved we need to search the scriptures to ensure that it agrees with the desires of God (Acts 17:11).

We cannot afford to be scammed out of heaven or allow other to be.
